Soma Bay

Soma Bay is a peninsula on the Egyptian Red Sea, 45 kilometers south of Hurghada, across the bay of Safaga. The ten million square meter peninsula is five kilometers long and two kilometers wide. Designed and developed the peninsula by the Egyptian Abu Soma Developing Company based in Cairo. At Soma Bay there are several hotels, a marina with marina, a kite surfing station and a dive center. The tourism offerings of Soma Bay focus on diving, golf, windsurfing, kite-surfing and wellness.

Tourism

Infrastructure and economy

Current is generated by a power plant, drinking water obtained by a sea water desalination plant. For this purpose, two different technologies are used, conventional vacuum evaporation and the much more modern reverse osmosis. The peninsula is accessible by a private seven -kilometer road. On the peninsula, there is also a petrol station.
