Soma Weiss

Life

Soma Weiss was in Bistrita (Hungarian: Beszterce ) born and emigrated in 1920 to the First World War to the United States. He graduated in 1923 from the Cornell Medical College and became chief physician at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. He died in 1942 of a ruptured aneurysm, diagnosed by himself.

Weiss main contributions concern his work on cardiovascular diseases, particularly heart disease and the importance of the nervous system in cardiovascular physiology.
