Somali constitutional referendum, 1979
A second constitutional referendum was held in Somalia on 25 August 1979.
The new constitution replaced the constitution, which was accepted by the people in 1961 and held a one-party state with a presidential system of government under the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party one. Main point of the new constitution was the establishment of a one-party state under the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party. The template has been officially approved by 99.78 % of voters.
