Some Friendly is the title of the debut album by the British band The Charlatans, published on 8 October 1990., It was ranked one of the UK Album Top 40

The album

The Charlatans were part of the Madchester movement of The Stone Roses and The Happy Mondays. The publication of Some Friendly was preceded by two successful singles ( The Only One I Know and Then). Some Friendly was the first from three number one albums in the Charlatans UK, as well as the most successful album of the band in the USA ( number 73). The song The Only One I Know and Sproston Green have been regularly played live by the group during their career.

The sound

The sound of this album is clearly influenced by the other Madchester bands like Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. Coined the album is through the use of the keyboard, making the sound very reminiscent of those of the same arisen Inspiral Carpets.
