The Somesul Mic ( German Small Somes; Hungarian Kis- Somes ) is the left source of the river Somes in northwestern Romania.

The Somesul Mic arises in Gilău at the confluence of its two source rivers, Somesul Rece ( Cold Somes ) from the right and Somesul Cald ( Warm Somes ) from the left, which originate in the Apuseni Mountains. The Somesul Mic flows in an easterly direction, flows through the city of Cluj -Napoca and turns about 10 km further to the north. It flows past in a wide valley at Gherla and hits east of Dej on the coming of the East Somesul Mare, with whom he unites to Someş. The Somesul Mic has a length of about 90 km. Including headwaters of the total length 178 km. The catchment area covers 3773 km ².
