Sömmering (crater)

Sömmering is an impact crater on the Moon's front page on the western edge of the sinus Medii, northwest of the crater Mösting and south of Schröter. The crater is eroded and the north and south are two large openings are located in the Wall. The interior is of the lavas of the Mare (Moon) flooded flat and planar accordingly.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German anatomist, anthropologist, paleontologist and inventor Samuel Thomas von Soemmerring.
