Name
The name Sommerkahl goes from the Middle High German word " Sumer ", which means summer forth. This refers to the sunny location in the lower part of the valley. For the origin of the word Kahl see Name of Kahl. The brook gave the place its name Sommerkahl.
The name bacon Kahl comes from a time when there were few roads in the Spessart.
