Son en Breugel

Son en Breugel ( listen? / I ) is a municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant.

Districts

The municipality consists of the villages Breugel Son and as the seat of government. Son is located about 10 km as the crow north of Eindhoven and directly north of the Wilhelminakanal.

History

On September 17, 1944 began in the area the surgery Garden - part of Operation Market Garden. Soldiers of the German Wehrmacht blew up in front of the attacker a road bridge at Son, that led over the Wilhelminakanal.
