Son of Beast

Son of Beast without the looping

Son of Beast at Kings Iceland (Kings Mills, Ohio, United States) was a wooden roller coaster that opened on 26 May 2000 in the former Paramount's Kings Iceland.

The constructed from the Stengel GmbH and the Roller Coaster Corporation of America Bahn was the only wooden roller coaster in the world, equipped with a loop, which itself, however, was made of steel. This was about 36 m high.

In 2006, problems accumulated with the ride and thus she went on 9 July 2006 their last rounds. Some changes to the track were made between seasons 2006 and 2007, including, among others, the loop was removed. With its 66 m height, it was now the highest pure wooden roller coaster in the world, outperforming Colossos at Heide - Park by 14 m. By removal of the looping lighter trains could now be used.

According to the 2009 season of operation of the railway has been set. On 27 July 2012, the park was then known, completely dismantled the car. The demolition took place in the same year. Since then Colossos is at Heide Park again the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. At the former site of Son of Beast, is currently the Inverted Coaster " Banshee " built.

The original features of Son Of Beast were by Premier Rides. Each train was equipped with six cars with space for six people ( three rows of two people). Between the seasons 2005 and 2006, each train was shortened to five cars. Since 2007, Son Of Beast had again two trains, each with six cars, which were by the manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides. In each car could like the old trains from Premier Rides six persons ( three rows of two people) take place.
