Sonal Shah (actress)

Sonal Shah ( born 1980 ) is an American actress of Indian descent who primarily for her role as Dr. Sonja "Sunny" Dey in the television series Scrubs - is known.

Youth and Education

Shah grew up in Wheaton on in the state of Illinois. Her parents, Bhadresh and Mrudula Shah, retired in 1970 from Mumbai in India to the United States.

Shah graduated from Wheaton Warrenville South High School. There she was appointed in July 1998 for the DuPage Country Fair Queen.

Shah completed his studies at Loyola University in Chicago and studied cum laude with a major in theater as well as in the minor subjects psychology, biology and chemistry with a focus on medicine. While she studied at Latoya College, Shah joined the sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha. "Before, I always planned to go to medical school ," Shah told a newspaper from Wheaton in March 2009.
