Sonderhof is a district of the town of Schmallenberg in North Rhine -Westphalia.

Geography

The Sonderhof consists of a single farm and is located on the northern slope of the Hunau on the county road 19 between Osterwald in the east and in the west Rimberg.

History

The Sonderhof was first mentioned in documents in 1338 and was at that time the possession of Count Gottfried IV von Arnsberg. Later were the masters of Meschede to Alme and after them the Counts of Bocholtz to Alme held by the Court. At least since the late 17th century managed the family Droste the yard.

From the once very large yard two Osterwalder farms were divided before 1541. The existing house was built in 1859 today the site of an earlier building built in 1712. The first Sonderhof was at a different location.
