Sondra Locke

Sondra Locke ( born May 28, 1947 in Shelbyville, Tennessee as Sondra Louise Smith) is an American actress and director.

Life

Locke studied at the Middle Tennessee State University before under an organized by Warner Bros. in 1968 auditions for the film The Heart is a Lonely Hunter was discovered. For her performance in the film, she received a 1969 Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and two nominations for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and for Best Young Actress. Sondra Locke became famous especially on the side of Clint Eastwood, with whom she was romantically involved also from 1975 to 1990. Together they turned six films, including The Texan (1976) and Dirty Harry comes back (1983). 1986 staged Sondra Locke with Ratboy her first film.

After the separation of Clint Eastwood Sondra Locke sought an action for maintenance against him. Part of the agreement between the former partners had a contract with the studio Warner Bros., for which Sondra Locke should produce three films in addition to a financial donation. When it did not came to the realization of the projects, they sued the studio, reaching in 1999 an out of court agreement on the payment of a sum not published.

From 1968 until the divorce in 1978 Sondra Locke was married to her childhood friend Gordon Anderson. In 1990 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 1997 she published her autobiography The Good, the Bad, and the Very Ugly: A Hollywood Journey. She lives with her new partner, a surgeon in Hollywood.
