Sonia Todd

Sonia Todd ( born January 1, 1959 in Adelaide, South Australia ) is an Australian actress.

Life

Sonia Todd was born in January 1959 in Adelaide in the Australian state of South Australia. At the age of two years, she moved with her parents to Sydney. Todd studied at National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, where he made in 1985 with Baz Luhrmann, Catherine McClements and Justin Monjo graduate. Their initial goal was to become a dancer. While still a student, Sonia Todd belonged to the occupation of the dance film Strictly Ballroom - The breaking all the rules dance under the direction of her former colleagues completion Baz Luhrmann.

She is married to Rhett Walton and has two sons (* 1992 and * 2001).

Career

Sonia Todd is best known for the role of Georgia Rattray in the crime series Police Rescue - Dangerous use. For her role, she won the 1994 Logie Award for Most Popular Actress. For the four-hour miniseries The Potato Factory 2000 she was nominated for an AFI Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She gained international fame in 1997 in the Oscar-winning Australian film Shine - The Path into Light. In 1998, she starred in 13 episodes of the crime series Water Rats - The Hafencops the role of Detective Sergeant Louise Bradshaw.

In 2001 she won the role of Meg Fountain in the Australian drama series McLeod's Daughters. There she was to see to the end of the fifth season as the lead actress. But until the end of the 2009 series, she had several guest appearances. Also in 2001, she starred in seven episodes of the hospital drama All Saints as Kate Larson. From 2007 to 2008, she returned after a further seven episodes as Dr. Elizabeth Foy back to the series. Since 2009, Sonia Todd plays the role of Gina Austin in the Australian soap opera Home and Away.
