Sonny & Cher

Sonny and Cher was a 1964-1974 existing American pop duo, consisting of Sonny Bono and his wife Cher and to date has sold more than 80 million records.

The two had several television shows, including The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour (1971) and The Sonny and Cher Show ( 1976). The marriage was divorced in 1974; from her was a child, Chaz Bono ( Chastity Sun Bono to May 2010 ), produced. 1987 gave the two in the Late Night Show with David Letterman surprising her earlier hit I Got You Babe for the best. This was their last joint appearance.

Personal

Cher was born Cherilyn Sarkisian on May 20, 1946 in California. Bono, born as Salvatore Bono on February 16, 1935, whose father was an Italian immigrant in Detroit, died on 5 January 1998.

On March 4, 1969 their child Chastity Bono was born. Bono has other children from his first marriage

Successes include their singles I Got You Babe ( 1965), Little Man (1966 ), The Beat Goes On (1967). 1965 were five hits by Sonny and Cher simultaneously in the top 20 of the international charts.

  • Untitled, 1976 - The last, unreleased album by Sonny and Cher. From fifteen recorded songs, only the title 're Not Right For Me and Wrong Number 1977 were released as a single.
