Sonogno is a municipality in the Valle Verzasca ( Verzasca Valley ) in the circle Verzasca. It belongs to the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Sonogno is the farthest village in the Verzasca Valley and lies at the confluence of the mountain streams from the Redorta and Vogornessotal in a depression. West of the town lies the Monte Zucchero (Sugar Mountain; 2'736 m asl. ), Whose summit is on the boundary of the municipality.
