History

With the separation of Zoom Records the band parted by John Leckie, producer of the first three albums, and Steve Hillage committed. Hillage expressed ( by Rupert Hine ) and Regent's Park Studios along with his stamp on the sound engineers Hugh Jones and Alan Jakoby production in the Farmland Studios. The mastering took place in London in the Townhouse studios and the Tape One Studios. The production sounds uniform effects were used more sparingly and set the accuracy to the forefront in order to implement the ideas of the band in the sound. The entire production pointed in the desired direction of the band: audible, but experimental music that was produced clean.

In this concept album, the band processed an extensive tour through the United States with concerts in seventy cities. During the recording more songs than can be pressed on a vinyl LP emerged. The band did not want to give up the recordings and publish Virgin not a double album.
