Sony Alpha 7

The Sony Alpha 7 ( ILCE 7) is a mirrorless system camera ( DSLM ) with full-frame image sensor, which is commercially available since October 2013. Through the mirrorless system camera body is relatively small, despite the small picture full-frame sensor and an interchangeable lens system. The Sony Alpha 7 has an effective resolution of 24.3 megapixels and used for processing the image data to the image processor BIONZ X.

The camera body has an E -Mount and most matching lenses with integrated motor for autofocus. The hybrid autofocus system combines a phase detection autofocus with contrast autofocus. The Phasendetektionsaufokus has 117 and the contrast autofocus 25 measurement points.

The built-in monitor and the electronic viewfinder support Live View with software magnifying glass and focus peaking.

With the built-in Wi - Fi capability, the Alpha 7 can be controlled remotely via a smartphone or other mobile devices. The recordings can be transferred directly to the mobile device.

Models

Alpha 7R

There is a modified housing variant Alpha 7R, which is equipped with an image sensor with a higher effective resolution around 36 megapixels. This image sensor has no optical low pass filter and no phase detection AF. When used with the sold to zoom ( Zeiss Vario- Tessar FE 1:4 24-70 mm OSS ZA T *) but there is no corresponding higher resolution. Further, the alpha 7R fewer measured fields for Auofokus and the camera, both at the switching as well as when releasing slowly.

Alpha 7S

In April 2014 Sony announced a further variant with deutlcih less image sensor points (12 megapixels) and significantly higher light sensitivity. The model is also equipped with a high-resolution 4K video mode.
