Sony HDR-HC1

The Sony HDR -HC1 E is the first produced for the private customers high-definition video camera. The term HDR -HC means " High Definition Video Recorder - Horizontal Compact"

Video System

The camera supports video systems PAL ( CCIR standards 1080/50i-Spezifikation ) and NTSC ( 1080/60i ), where for each of the two video systems is an appropriate camera version.

Areas of application

Although primarily developed for the consumer market, the video camera is because of their small size (71 × 94 × 188 mm ), their low weight (680 grams) and their sharp images used in the professional sector.

Specifications

The HDR -HC1 E is recording the image in the HDV format, which corresponds to an anamorphic 4:3 image of 1440 × 1080 pixels in field methods. The reproduction of the image is done with interpolated 1920 × 1080 pixels in 16:9.

Instead of a CCD sensor Sony used ( for the first time in HDV ) has a 3-megapixel 1/3 " CMOS sensor ( 2,969,000 pixels), but approximately 34 % of its area is used for the digital image stabilizer. The fast CMOS sensor enables an adjustable readout frequency for the image information of up to 10 kHz.

The bright Carl Zeiss Vario - Sonnar T * lens with a focal length of 5.1 to 51 mm, and 41-480 mm (equivalent to a 35mm camera) has a 10x optical zoom ( 120x digital).

The with the camera at a resolution of 1440 × 1080 ( 4:3) or 1920 × 1080 (16:9) captured photo images are stored on a Memory Stick Duo Pro and can be transferred to a PC later via the USB interface.

The transfer of the recorded footage is carried out via an i.LINK interface (FireWire ).

The recording only a DV signal ( 4:3 / 16:9), and the conversion of HDV tape recording in DV format and its output via i.Link or the video component output is also possible.

Version for professional use

The variation of the HDR -HC1 E for professional use is the Sony HVR -A1E. It is identical to the design of the HDR -HC1 E, but has additional features that are mainly in the audio range. So was, for example, the HVR -A1E the cultivation of an additional external microphone.
