Sophia Elisabet Brenner
Sophia Elisabeth Brenner ( born April 29, 1659 Stockholm, † September 14, 1730 ibid ) was a Swedish writer of German descent.
Life and work
Sophie Brenner was the daughter of coming from Germany sculptor (or businessman ) Weber and is considered the first major Swedish writer. She was married to the Swedish miniature painter Elias Brenner.
For the prevailing conditions Brenner had unusual language skills. She dominated German, French, Italian, Latin and Swedish so far that she also wrote poetry in these different languages. My poetic work consisted mainly in elaborate and often moralizing occasional poems neat style; some of her poems show, however, also true feeling. Sophia Brenner advocated the equality of woman a spiritual realm.
