It is remarkable that the film was indeed produced originally in Norwegian language, which speaks Alberto Knox represented by Swedish actor Tomas of Brömssen but throughout Swedish. Approximately 2005 appeared a DVD version with English subtitles. But with regard to Germany is the thing clear, about 2000 appeared a dubbed version on video (VHS and DVD).

In addition to the theatrical version, a longer and slightly different cut multi-part television series version of Sophie's World was produced at the same time.
