Sophie Auster

Sophie Auster ( born July 6, 1987 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American singer and actress. She is the daughter of writer and director Paul Auster and writer Siri Hustvedt.

Life

At eight years old she began singing lessons and a year later she had her first small film role, eventually the age of twelve to take acting lessons. When she was 16 years old, she expresses the desire to pursue a music career. So your father used his connections, which resulted in a contact with the musical duo Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp of One Ring Zero. Paul Auster had participated in the musical-literary Project As Smart As We Are; the Auster can be seen in the award-winning documentary of the same name. They decide to take a common full-length album. On the advice of his father, the text selection is in addition to his own texts (of which two are from Sophie, three from Paul Auster's hand) and a traditional medieval text from England, mostly from poems important French surrealists: Guillaume Apollinaire, Philippe Soupault, Tristan Tzara, Robert Desnos and Paul Éluard. Most of the texts have been translated by Paul Auster at a young age into English. The resulting self-titled album Sophie Auster is an interplay of Auster's clear, well-trained voice with the diverse orchestrated music by One Ring Zero.

In July 2006, Auster was on the cover of Spanish Rolling Stone. Currently, she completed work on her second album Broken Down Cabaret.
