Sophie Shevardnadze

Sophie Shevardnadze (Georgian სოფო შევარდნაძე; Russian София Паатовна Шеварднадзе; born September 23, 1978 in Tbilisi as Sofija Paatowna Shevardnadze ) is a correspondent and presenter of the Russian television station RT and the radio station Ekho Moskvy.

Life

Sophie Shevardnadze is the granddaughter of former Soviet Foreign Minister and later Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, was born in the Georgian SSR. At the age of ten she moved to France, and later in the United States.

After her film and journalism studies in Boston and New York, she worked as a producer for ABC, before she returned to Georgia and worked there for a TV channel. In 2005 when the English, Russian TV channel Russia Today started, Shevardnadze went to the Russian capital since the start of transmission and works as a presenter. In addition, she also works for the radio station Ekho Moskvy.

Shevardnadze is also musically interested and has completed the Paris Conservatory with a diploma. She speaks Georgian, Russian, English, French and Italian.
