Sophie von Knorring

Margareta Sofia "Sophie" von Knorring ( born September 28, 1797 in Gräfsnäs, Västergötland, † February 13, 1848 in Skålltorp, Skärvs socks ) was a Swedish novelist.

Life

The daughter of the Swedish Court Marshal Zelow married in 1820 with the Supreme Freiherr von Knorring Sebastian. Having already written in her seventh year of small stories and novellas, she published her first novel in 1834 anonymously cousin Erna, who made unusual sensation.

Even the higher social belonging, Sophie von Knorring portrayed prefer life in these circles, light and lively, in a way that is indicative of fine observation; but she also knew the people living wrest its characteristic pages. Most of her novels have been translated into German.
