Sopranino saxophone

The sopranino is the instrument with the highest position among the most common saxophones and the second highest regular design of the saxophone. It is tuned to it. The range is des1 - as3. Be built (as well as the soprano saxophone that is tuned to B) two versions:

1 The straight shape, which is by far the most commonly used. She is like all the saxophones of a conical metal tube, but where the horn is straight down and not, as in the deeper saxophones ( Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone and B- bass saxophone) is bent upward.

2, the curved shape in which the horn is also bent upwards. This type is very rare. Sometimes you see bent Sopraninosaxophone at circus clowns.

The Sopranino is played rarely in part due to his difficult intonation. In addition to the shrill unpleasant sound comes mainly in the high elevations.

In jazz, the instrument of Anthony Braxton has been introduced. The Munich-based soprano saxophonist Klaus Kreuzeder, one of the most prolific and well-known jazz musicians in Germany, has voiced several pieces on the sopranino.
