Soroti
Location of Soroti in Uganda
Soroti is a town in Eastern Uganda, with over 43 312 inhabitants. It is the capital of the district of Soroti and the center of the people of Teso.
The city had until the closure of the railway line, due to the attacks by the LRA, following a railway line from Pakwach after Mbale, but this was only used for freight transport. In addition, an airplane runway and the only military and civilian flight school in Uganda exist.
