Soutache

The soutache is a narrow woven border, which can consist of wool, silk or cotton, and serves as Home decorating stocking item for trims on the seams. Sometimes also a gold -embroidered satin soutache cord is called that is used for embroidery.

Schoytaschierung is the name of the tangled braid trim on the hussar trousers and on the sleeves of hussar uniform. The word comes from the Magyar sujtás (pronounced schuitahsch ) for the elaborate fastenings on the sleeves and trousers of the Hungarian national costume. When k.u.k. Army was called this type of embellishment Vitéz Kötés.
