The South African Navy (English: South African Navy, abbreviated SAN) is the naval force of the Armed Forces of the Republic of South Africa and is considered the most powerful south of the Sahara.

Organization of the Marine
The headquarters of the South African Navy is located in Pretoria, her commander in chief is a vice admiral with the title Chief of the Navy. Currently Vice- Admiral Johannes Mudimu dressed this post. He is assisted by the Chief of Naval Operation and the Chief of Naval Support, each hold the rank of Rear Admiral. The command structure is composed of seven naval units ( Naval Units ), and independent flotilla ships.

International maneuver
In 2007, the South African Navy exercised jointly with the NATO Standing Naval Maritime Group 1 2008 and 2010 found together with Brazil and India IBSAMAR exercises instead. The German - South African naval maneuvers Good Hope was in 2012 for the fifth time.
