South Alberta Regiment

The South Alberta Regiment ( SAR) was a Canadian infantry regiment that served in World War II. The unit was set up in 1924 and 1940 mobilized as part of the 4th Canadian Infantry Division. In February 1942, the division was reorganized to a tank unit and received tanks from Tpy Ram, because there was a need for a second Canadian Armoured Division.

They took part in the liberation of Holland and the Battle of the Scheldt estuary. In January 1945 she took part in the Battle of the Kapelsche Veer.

The name was transferred to the ' reserve reconnaissance regiment ' "South Alberta Light Horse ".
