Summit of South Barrule

F South Barrule ( Manx Baarool Jiass ) is a 483 m high hill in the south of the Isle of Man. He is the highest elevation in the southern part of the island. It is located near the places Dalby and Foxdale. On its summit are the remains of a fortress from the Iron Age, where according to legend, the Irish Manannan legendary figure said to have lived.

On the hill leading from the south-west a narrow footpath that crosses the summit. From the top you have a view of the southern part of the Isle of Man in good weather.

Located on the southwest side of the hill on 176 meters height of about 2.3 acre reservoir Cringle reservoir that supports the supply of drinking water in the southern part of the island. It was built in 1938-1946 and has a capacity of about 14,100 cubic meters.

In the northern part of the island, a hill North Barrule exists.
