South Coast Wolves FC

South Coast Wolves FC is an Australian football club based in the Illawarra, New South Wales. By 2004, the club played in the National Soccer League ( NSL), currently in the New South Wales Premier League.

History

The South Coast Wolves were founded in 1980 under the name Wolongong Wolves. In 2000, the club won the Australian Championship for the first time in the final against Perth Glory. Perth was already at half time 3-0 lead, but could Wollongong this residue equalize the game ends. In the penalty shoot the Wolves finally won 7:6.

2001 Triumph could be repeated. In the final against South Melbourne FC Wollongong won 2-1. In the same year the club also won the OFC Champions League.

In 2007, the Board announced that the club in Wollongong FC is renamed.

At the beginning of the season, the club had to be re- renamed after he fell despite winning the State League Championship in 2008 in financial trouble. After considerable use of financial resources, the team could eventually be reported under the new name Wollongong Community Football Club in the NSW Premier League. Much of the champion squad, however, had already left by the time the club. In November 2009, the re-naming in South Coast Wolves Football Club.
