South Downs Way

The South Downs Way is a footpath and bridleway public in the south of England. The road crosses the South Downs National Park of Winchester in the county of Hampshire until the seaside resort of Eastbourne in East Sussex. He is one of the " National Trail " and thus part of the system of official long-distance footpaths in the UK.

Course

The 100 miles ( 160 km) long trail runs primarily through the hills of the South Downs. Despite the dense population of South East England bypassing the larger towns along the route curve such as Brighton and Lewes. Along the route there are numerous scenic attractions such as Ditchling Beacon, Devil's Dyke, the Long Man of Wilmington, the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head.

Between Winchester and the riverside village of Alfriston, Cuckmere the footpath and bridleway follow the same route. (May have to also cyclists use ) From there on the bridle path leads inland over Wilmington to Eastbourne, while an alternative route for pedestrians along the river course to the Cuckmere Estuary and then reached over the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head past the beach Eastbourne.
