South Lebanon is a village ( Village ) in Warren County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The municipality had, according to the 2000 census, a population of 2,538.

Geography

The village is located south of County Seats Lebanon near the mouth of Turtle Creek in the Little Miami River. The main part of the village is part of Union Township, the settlements south of the Little Miami River at Hamilton Township.

Traffic

In the north, Interstate 71 runs which in South Lebanon a departure for the State Highway 48 has. Both streets are major regional roads. A railway line, the Little Miami Railroad, led from the 1840s through South Lebanon. End of the 1960s turned to a railway operation and the track was dismantled. History

The founding of South Lebanon dates back to 1795. Originally it was known as Deerfield and was the capital until 1803 the existing Deerfield townships, renamed to its present name was made after 1850 and referred to the situation south of the town of Lebanon.
