South Shore (Montreal)

Rive- Sud (English South Shore, dt " south shore " ), also called Couronne Sud ( " south rim " ), is the collective term for the southern suburbs of Montreal. They are located in the southwest of the province of Quebec along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite the island of Ile de Montréal. The region includes 28 municipalities in the administrative region of Montérégie. Many of these communities are actually east of Montreal, as the St. Lawrence River changes its direction of flow.
