South Somerset

South Somerset is a District in the county of Somerset in England. Administrative center is the city of Yeovil; significant sights are Bruton, Castle Cary, Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster, Somerton and Wincanton.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the boroughs Chard and Yeovil, the Urban Districts Crewkerne and Ilminster and the Rural District Chard, Langport, Wincanton and Yeovil.
