Southampton F.C.

The Southampton FC ( officially: Southampton Football Club ) - also known by the nickname The Saints ( the saints ) - is an English football club based in Southampton. The Saints currently play in the English Premier League.

History

The club was founded in November 1885 as St. Mary's YMA. From 1889 was their home stadium, "The Dell". 2001, the club moved but due to the limited number of spectators in the St. Mary's Stadium to where the record attendance was achieved on 28 April 2012 in a 4-0 victory for Southampton FC in the Football League Championship game against Coventry City with 32,363 spectators.
