Southern Leyte State University

The Southern Leyte State University ( SLSU ) is a state university in the Philippines and is considered an important educational institution in the administrative region of Eastern Visayas. In the second semester of 2011, 6,990 students enrolled at the university.

Locations

She has five locations in the following communities:

  • The main campus of the University is located in Barangay San Roque in Sogod in the province of Southern Leyte
  • The SLSU - Tomas Oppus campus Tomas Oppus, Southern Leyte
  • The SLSU - Bontoc Campus is located in Bontoc, Southern Leyte
  • The SLSU - San Juan Campus is located in San Juan, Southern Leyte
  • The SLSU - Hinunangan campus is located in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte

Faculties

The Southern Leyte State University is home to ten different faculties, these are divided into high school and technical college areas, as well as vocational education in colleges. These are the College Arts and Sciences, Computer Studies, Criminology, Engineering, Food Technology, Graduate Studies, Hotel and Tourism, Industrial Education, Industrial Technology and the College of Accreditation Status.

History

The University's history began on 7 July 1969 as the Sogod National Trade School was opened. In 1981, she was renamed the Southern Leyte School of Arts and Trade. On March 1, she was awarded the status of a college and given the Leyte State College of Science and Technology ( SLSCST ) was opened. On March 7, 2004 the college of university status was granted. Due to the formation of the University was incorporated into the organizational structure of the Southern Leyte State College of Science and Technology in Sogod and Tomas Oppus Normal College.
