Southwest Region (Cameroon)

Southwest ( Sud-Ouest French or English South West) is a region of Cameroon with capital Buea.

Geography

The region is located in the west of the country, bordered to the northwest by Nigeria, on the northeast by the North West region, to the east by the Western Region, to the southwest by the Atlantic Ocean, on the southeast by the Littoral region. The province lies 650 km ² Banyang - Mbo Nature Reserve. In the northeast of the province of the Bamenda Highlands and the Bambouto massif extends, with 2,740 meters is the third highest mountain of Cameroon. Other prominent mountains are extinct volcanoes Manengouba and Kupe, which lie to the east of the province in the Bakossi Mountains.

The south of the province is part of the settlement area of the people of Oroko and the southeast to the settlement area of ​​the Bakossi.
