Southwestern script

The südlusitanische (often Tartessian ) Font is a closely related by several syllabic scripts that were used before and at the beginning of Roman rule on the Iberian peninsula. Whether they go back directly or indirectly via Greek letters on Phoenician models is unclear. The südlusitanische font was used in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula in the 7th to 5th century BC, possibly to record the language of Tartessians (but that is far from certain, since the discovery of the region südlusitanischen inscriptions is far from the archaeologically proven Tartessos ). The südlusitanische font is very similar to südostiberischen font and it is explored only incomplete. The characters represent partly open syllables of consonant and vowel, sometimes individual sounds. The writing was predominantly written from right to left.
