Sovcomflot

Sowkomflot (Russian Совкомфлот, English transcription Sovcomflot, also Sovkomflot or SCF Group) is a Russian state-owned enterprises. The shipping company based in St. Petersburg specializes in the transportation of crude oil and liquefied natural gas.

Particulars

The shipping company was founded on 22 June 1988 as a trading company Soviet Commercial Fleet. The founding shareholders were the Merchant Marine Ministry of the USSR and shipping companies Far Eastern, Black Sea, Novorossiysk, Latvian, Baltic and Soviet Danube. Establishing the shipping took a total of 150 ships of the shipping companies involved to an amount of 250 million rubles share capital. In addition there were 28 more in joint ventures or dependent lines operated units. Overall, the shipping company started by Lloyd's List of 178 units with a total of 3.4 million tons and a value of 1.8 billion rubles.

  • Открытое акционерное общество " Новороссийское морское пароходство " short OAO НОВОШИП (English abbreviated JSC Novoship ) based in Novorossiysk - this part of the company works as an operator of Aframax tankers, product tankers and bulk carriers.
  • Sovcomflot (Cyprus ) Limited, based in Limassol - this organizational unit is responsible for the operation and chartering of ships.
  • Unicom Management Services ( Cyprus) Ltd.. based in Limassol - this organizational unit is responsible for the technical operation and manning of vessels. In addition, Unicom through the new building design and construction supervision of the ships.
  • Sovcomflot (UK) Ltd.. based in London - this part of the company serves the financial, property and payment entity within the group.
  • SCF Marpetrol S. A. based in Madrid - this part of the company works as an operator of chemical tankers and asphalt tankers, as well as the base for the Spanish LNG market.
  • ЗАО Роснефтефлот, English ZAO Rosnefteflot based in Moscow - this part of the company works as operators of oil storage and transfer vessels, terminals and offshore ships.

In 2002, the Russian state shipping company established a SCF St. Petersburg Line -called ro / ro freight service between Kiel and St Petersburg, whose continuation with the Danish DFDS Tor Line DFDS under the name of SCF Line in September 2005 it was decided.

Since 2010 Sowkomflot developed the Northeast Passage as an efficient sea route to Asia.
