Sövestad Runestones

The Stone is about two kilometers west of Sövestad near the castle Krageholm in Skåne in Sweden, where it was discovered in 1756. Under the stone that lay overturned on the image side, the remains of a sword were found. The stone is unique and still belongs neither to the Gotland picture stones at the Danish mask stones. An approximately similar representation, but pagan content ( Thor's fishing expedition ) shows the image of stone in Hørdum Kirke in Denmark.

Nearby is the rune stone Sövestad 2, registered as No. DR 291, a typical Swedish band snake stone. Pure Stones are more common than in the rest of Sweden ( Hunnestad Monument ) in this region.
