The Sosch ( Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian Сож ) is a river in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, a left-side tributary of the Dnieper. It rises in the Smolensk heights, 8 km south of Smolensk. Its length is 648 km. Only on the last 25 km, it runs in five sections on the territory of Ukraine before flowing back on Belarusian territory 60 km south of Gomel in the Dnepr. The Sosch flows through Gomel, the second largest city of Belarus.
