Spaghetti squash

The spaghetti squash is a high yielding, early Pumpkin type of the garden squash ( Cucurbita pepo) of the gourd family ( Cucurbitaceae ).

The fruit shape is cylindrical. The fruit size (diameter by height ) is 13 to 16 centimeters by 20 to 30 centimeters. It has a weight of 1.5 to 3.0 kg. The flesh is pale yellow and has long fibers that vaguely reminiscent of spaghetti and pass the pumpkin his name.
