Spanish Communist Workers' Party

The Partido Comunista Obrero Español ( German: Spanish Communist Workers' Party ), PCOE, is a communist party in Spain. It was founded in 1973 by Enrique Lister ( 1907-1994 ), the (, Partido Comunista de España PCE ) was leaked earlier from the Communist Party of Spain, in which he returned in 1986, however.

History

For the cleavage of the PCE, it came as a result of the reform policy, also called Euro-Communism, the party leadership in Santiago Carrillo ( born 1915 ). Lister's position that supported the Soviet intervention in Czechoslovakia in 1968, found only in a minority of members of the PCE appeal. The PCOE was legalized on 31 October 1977 which coincided with the delivery of Enrique Lister's passport for his return from Moscow. Despite good results in the constituencies he could in the next elections not win a seat in parliament. In Catalonia is the PCOE with the Communist Workers' Party of Catalonia ( PCOC, Catalan: Partit Obrer Comunista de Catalunya ) connected.

In April 1986, a minority of PCOE members went under the direction of the Secretary General Enrique Lister back into the PCE back after Santiago Carrillo had been expelled from the PCE.
