Spanish flower
As a Spanish flower ( flor spanish española ), reminiscent of a flower shape of a coin is called. It has seven evenly distributed on the edge notches. This form is used at the 20 dollar cents in New Zealand, 10 Gepik ( a tenth of an Azerbaijan manat ) in Azerbaijan and at the 20- cent coin of euro money.
Because of the seven notches ( heptagon ) the coin is considered numismatic as " not round ". The 20 cent coin is the only coin of euro money that is not round. The 10 - and 50-cent coins are despite their Randkerbung "round" as numismatic.
The form dates back to a Spanish 50 peseta coin that was minted from 1991. This special character has been introduced to facilitate blind and visually impaired people to distinguish the coin from other values.
