Spanish Lake is a census -designated place (CDP ) in St. Louis County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri at the mouth of the Missouri River into the Mississippi. In the census in 2010 had 19,650 inhabitants Spanish Lake.

Geography
Spanish Lake is located at 38 ° 47'9 " north latitude and 90 ° 12'46 " west longitude and extends over 19.5 km ², spread to 19.1 km ² land and 0.4 km ² water surface. Spanish Lake is located in the northern suburban area of St. Louis on the south bank of the Missouri River and is the last village before its confluence with the Mississippi.

Traffic
On the southern edge of Spanish Lake runs in east-west direction Interstate 270 on the western edge carries U.S. Highway 67 from St. Louis north. Northwest of Spanish Lake leads the Lewis Bridge across the Missouri River. In the southeast the New Chain of Rocks Bridge crossing the Mississippi River and connects the Greater St. Louis with the Northeastern United States.

Sanctuary
Immediately to the place closes in the north- east by the Reserve Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. It is a wetland at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri, which got its present shape in 1993 when the great flood of both rivers. In this area, multiple attempts at colonization were made in the past, but now completely abandoned.
