Sparrow Mass

The Sparrow Mass in C major, K. 220 ( 196b ), is an exhibition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

It was probably on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1776 in Salzburg Cathedral premiered and is considered a type of " Missa brevis et Solemnis ", that is, it is both a Missa brevis just allocated accordingly, but on the other hand, with trumpets and timpani festive occupied as a Missa solemnis. Mozart gave up a dismemberment of the Ordinariumstextes into individual numbers on completed extensive solo sets, based on closing figures as well as ever on contrapuntal sections.
