Spasskoye-Lutovinovo

Spasskoye - Lutovinovo (Russian Спасское - Лутовиново ) was the estate of the mother of the Russian writer Ivan Turgenev, on which he spent his first ten years of life, and which he later often, for longer periods, visited. It is located about ten kilometers north of the city of Mtsensk in the Oryol Oblast. The mansion was built in 1778-1809. After a fire destroyed the house in May 1839 it was rebuilt and later restored several times.

The mansion is home to a museum opened in 1922 with a permanent exhibition about Ivan Turgenev.
