Special Operations Department

The Department of Special Operations of the Turkish police or Özel harekat Dairesi Başkanlığı is a special unit of the Turkish police.

The unit was founded in 1983, according to the website of the Turkish General Directorate of Police to make the tasks of combating terrorism in rural and inhabited areas and arrest terrorists harmless.
