Speedball (video game)

Speedball is a computer game that has both elements of a sports game as well as a simulation.

Gameplay

The gameplay is best described as a kind of in the future settled handball. The game scenario was inspired by the movie Rollerball from 1975. Each team consists of the parts of the team defense, midfield and attack. The aim of the game is to score as more points than the opposing team in the two periods. History

Speedball came out in 1988 Master for Amiga, ST, PC, C64, NES and Sega system. 1990 published the Bitmap Brothers Speedball II " Brutal Deluxe" a sequel that was ported in addition to the Sega Mega Drive, Archimedes, GameBoy, PocketPC and CD ³ ². In 2000, Speedball 2100 was released for the PlayStation.

A third part - Speedball Arena - was announced for Christmas 2002, but never published.

In March 2007, a remake of Speedball 2 by the Berlin based publisher Frogster Interactive has officially announced for Microsoft Windows. The game was developed by French game studio Kylotonn Entertainment in association with the Bitmap Brothers and published on 27 November 2007.

On 24 February 2011 appeared Speedball 2 Evolution for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The game is based largely on the original, but has been expanded to include additional teams and a local multiplayer mode.
