Speedy Gonzales is an American animated short film directed by Friz Freleng from the year 1955.

Action

Mexican Mice standing at the border fence to the U.S. and look longingly at the lying American-based cheese factory AJAX. Numerous mice already tried to get cheese from the factory, but they were always killed by the guard cat Sylvester. The mouseless Sombreros stacked up already and as another by lottery mouse the cat falls victim to Speedy Gonzales is called the "fastest mouse in Mexico ," as a last resort to help.

Speedy Gonzales appears and manages to easily penetrate the cheese factory and bring the Mexican mice a piece of cheese. Speedy Gonzales rushes now several times to the factory and back without Sylvester can catch him. The attempts to get hold of with fishing nets, anti-tank mines and pipes of the mouse, but always fails. As Speedy Gonzales announced the mice at the end, now to get them all the cheese factory, Sylvester wants to beat him. It stacks all cheese boxes in front of the factory and blows it into the air. The enthusiastic mice are now irrigated by small pieces of cheese and Sylvester annoyed at his own stupidity.

Production

Speedy Gonzales came on 17 September 1955 as part of the Warner Bros. cartoon series Looney Tunes in the cinemas. It was after Cat - Tails for Two is the second film to the mouse Speedy Gonzales and the first in which the mouse met with her nemesis Sylvester.

The mouse Speedy Gonzales is spoken by Mel Blanc.

Speedy Gonzales won the 1956 Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ".
